LA RENCONTRE
Le festival CARAVANE est la réunion de 60 jeunes artistes européens autour d'un festival pluridisciplinaire et international. Ainsi CARAVANE #1 s'est tenu à Sarajevo du 12 au 26 avril 2002 et a créé un chantier culturel exceptionnel entre des artistes bosniens, français et yougoslaves. Une seconde étape du festival s'est déroulée à Strasbourg au printemps 2003. Le but du festival est d'intervenir dans des zones sinistrées, où une reconstruction culturelle et des réseaux de production s'imposent. Ce modèle de caravane peut ainsi intervenir partout où les hommes et leur culture sont blessés.
LA VILLE
Le projet est né de l'observation de la ville de Sarajevo et résulte de nos questionnements sur les espaces publics et la façon dont nous appréhendons nos propres lieux de vie dans les sociétés contemporaines. Sarajevo, avant d'être une "marque déposée" et érigée en martyre a toujours été un carrefour géographique, historique et religieux, berceau de quantité d'idées. L'objectif de ce projet est d'envisager Sarajevo à nouveau comme une zone de passages, perméable et riche, et non pas comme une mine sinistrée et abandonnée.
MEETING
The CARAVANE festival is the meeting of 60 young artists, involved in a cross-disciplinary and international festival. CARAVANE#1 took place in Sarajevo from the 12th to the 26th of April 2002. It has created an exeptional cultural breeding ground between Bosnians, Yugoslav and French artists. The second stage of the Festival was held in Strasbourg during the spring 2003. The aim of the festival is for us to get involved in stricken areas. Indeed, a cultural reconstruction and production network are a necessity in those regions. This kind of CARAVANE can proceed everywhere Human and culture are injured.
CITY
The project is born from the Sarajevo city observation. It is the result of questions about the public space and our way to involve the personal space. Sarajevo, before being a registered trademark, and established as a martyr city, has always been a geographical, historical and religious crossroad; and the birthplace of many ideas. The aim of this project is to consider Sarajevo as a pathway area, permeable and rich; not as a stricken and deserted area.
